About our founder
With his extensive experience in the Las Vegas home-building industry, our founder, Tom McCormick, was perfectly positioned to lay the foundation for a new type of builder. Tom has spent his career building houses in Las Vegas. Through all the industry’s ups and downs, Tom especially grew interested in making home ownership easier for those reluctant first-time home buyers.
Wherever he went, Tom noted that most renters were spending more money each month on rent than they would if they had a mortgage. However, the upfront costs of buying a home were holding back many households from owning. He saw how no one was addressing this market of first-time homebuyers in Las Vegas. Now Tom had a vision.
In 2012, Tom started Touchstone Living with a plan to eliminate the barriers that were keeping so many people from buying homes. His new company would build affordable but high-quality homes in resort-like neighborhoods. It would offer flexible financing options and keep costs low by offering competitive rates and covering closing costs. Every home would come with the upgrades and appliances most new homeowners have to purchase themselves.
Today, we are an award-winning industry leader in Las Vegas and Nevada. Tom’s original vision of attainable homeownership still lies at the heart of everything we do. Every time we hand the keys to a former renter, we are living Tom’s dream and helping someone else live theirs.
